O que sabemos sobre a automedicação com drogas psicoativas? Uma leitura do neuro-aprimoramento

Resumo

Este trabalho é proposto como um marco conceitual que busca contribuir para a compreensão e investigação do problema da automedicação com drogas psicoativas, em particular, o caso do neuroenhancement. Esse fenômeno envolve vários problemas, categorias e arestas que o impedem de ser reduzido a qualquer análise particular. A análise a partir da medicalização e do controle social é uma contribuição, mas revela-se insuficiente para compreender a heterogeneidade desse fenômeno. Por outro lado, as análises a partir da discussão moral sobre o uso não médico de tecnologias médicas, igualmente, que, sob a ótica do risco, escapam à contingência do uso de psicofármacos por conta própria. Particularmente a prática do neuroestimulante, na perspectiva do uso, mostra como os dilemas morais são superados por uma abordagem pragmática na escolha do recurso à droga, do ponto de vista teórico, problematiza como os conceitos de automedicação e medicalização podem ser colocados em tensão, razão pela qual será tomado como modelo de prática automedicada, para o desenvolvimento deste trabalho.
