Estructura de valores personales y corrupción: Un análisis experimental de decisiones que conducen a aceptar o rechazar un soborno

La corrupción es una contravención legal y moral que genera gran preocupación entre las naciones debido a sus efectos erosivos sobre el crecimiento económico, la democracia, la gobernabilidad, la equidad social y la integridad de la cultura. Por lo tanto, es necesario conocer más sobre las múltiples variables que explican y sostienen este fenómeno. El presente artículo reporta los resultados de una investigación experimental que buscó aportar elementos de juicio sobre la influencia de la estructura de los valores personales sobre la disposición a sobornar. Para ello, 12 parejas de jóvenes universitarios de ambos sexos interactuaban a través de un juego que simulaba una relación entre un corruptor y un agente corruptible, con la ayuda de un sistema de comunicación en tiempo real, mediado por una plataforma en línea, que permitía una interacción instantánea y bidireccional. Las parejas fueron aleatoriamente constituidas y jugaban entre sí, bajo el sistema doble ciego. Sin embargo, los miembros de la diada podían compartir valores o variar en su estructura axiológica de manera tal que, mientras uno de ellos podía manifestar principios anticorrupción, el compromiso del otro no era tan obvio. Los resultados confirman la importancia de la estructura axiológica de las personas en la facilitación o contención del comportamiento corrupto. Este artículo también reflexiona sobre las connotaciones teóricas estudiadas.
