Abstract

In this psychohistory research, historical information is analyzed with psychological theory. In this way, it is possible to reach a high level of depth in the analysis of information thanks to psychology, which allows generating a coherent and useful interpretation for the understanding of specific historical events and processes. Pedro Francisco Murillo y Salazar (better known like Pedro Domingo Murillo), leader of the Revolution of La Paz of 1809, presents many facets, until now little known by the scholars of his figure. In this paper we seek to identify the main characteristics of his first years of life, focusing research on the influence received by Pedro from his family environment and how that influences his adult life. Thus, the families of origin of Pedro Murillo are studied, reviewing the known facts of Pedro's life during his first thirty years of existence.
