Abstract

The research examines the aspects of reception and understanding of medical prescriptions and drug prospectuses by patients and students of health area courses. The inadequate prescription of medicines, especially of psychopharmaceuticals, may also be due to the linguistic factors present in the communication in the medical and patient relationship. This can lead to problems in cognitive and psychomotor learning and school failure. The prescription of psychoactive drugs, given the incorrect understanding of the patient, can lead to placental effects that can lead to recurrence in the search, which can lead to the condition of chemical dependence with serious consequences. Given 5,787 medical records and by analysis of the content and sociolinguistics, we studied the problems of understanding indicative terms for the use of the product. At 16.5% of the prescriptions found errors in the range of recommended milligrams for consumption, giving the patient the interpretation of pharmacological information that is generally in his domain, encompassing numerical questions, taking time and didactic representations. In 11% of the prescriptions there was an indication of ingesting a tablet for five days, if it needed to be 1/5 of the tablet a day or a tablet a day for five days. The prescription may imply numerical questions, time taken, didactic representations, semantic field of the word, use of metaphors and over all the error of working with concepts not shared in the doctor-patient relationship.
