Abstract

Eating Disorders (eating disorders) can be approached from the perspective of primary prevention. The results of this study based on a literature review highlight the importance of carrying out primary prevention due to the increase in the epidemiology of eating disorders in Western society in recent years. Since the diagnosis of the pathology is generally made when it is in an advanced state, this work seeks to raise awareness among the population that it is essential to develop research that allows the deployment of prevention and detection strategies. By understanding about the etiology of eating disorders, one can be aware of both individual and socio-cultural risk factors and from the point of view of health professionals, knowing that there are instruments not only to help establish a diagnosis but also take advantage of its use as tools for the early detection of these disorders.
