Abstract

The term restoration is a concept used to define the renovating impact that an environment has on people. In this study, the restorative effect (at cognitive, emotional, behavioral and physiological level) of natural scenarios and urban settings was compared, hoping to verify the restorative effect of natural scenarios, for which the Revised Short Restoration Scale of Han In this research 150 university students, from 17 to 36 years old, from five faculties of the Private University of Santa Cruz de la Sierra participated. With the results obtained in the test, it was possible to accept the hypothesis that natural scenes produce a greater restorative effect on people than urban scenes on a cognitive, emotional and behavioral level. It was also observed that professional training is related to the cognitive dimension of the appreciation of the restorative effect of natural and urban images.
