Abstract

The article attempts to account for the emergence of Humanist Psychology in the 1960s, highlighting its origins and distinctive characteristics, the objectives of its birth and evaluating its achievements, as well as new psychological phenomena discovered. A new emerging paradigm, known as the Philosophy of the Implicit created by Eugene Gendlin, discoverer of Focusing, is described. Finally, the contributions of Humanist Psychology that have lasted after half a century of existence stand out.
