Narration of the duel in the love break

Abstract

The love break is a type of ambiguous duel, quite frequent in young people being one of the most painful and stressful experiences that can be experienced. This research focuses on exploring the stories of three couples who had gone through a break, using the narrative approach. A single semi-structured interview was conducted for all participants, to perform a more comparative analysis. It was started by a base question following the story of each participant where other questions about the subject arose. Although the context of each participant was totally different from the other, women and men showed certain similar characteristics in the mode of coping with grief, and in their affective and cognitive processes present according to their experience.
