Medição da empatia em crianças bolivianas: adaptação e validação da escala "Feel & Think" de Garton e Gringart

Resumo

O presente estudo explorou as potencialidades da escala Feel & Think (F&T) modificada por Garton & Gringart (2005) para medir a empatia em crianças bolivianas entre 8 e 12 anos. O instrumento adaptado incluiu dois fatores e 12 itens (6 para empatia afetiva e 6 para cognitivo). Os dados foram avaliações na sua confiabilidade, divergente, concorrente e validade de construto por meio da Análise de Componentes Principais e Análise Fatorial Confirmatória. Os resultados mostraram uma confiabilidade um pouco diminuída, embora com relações significativas entre os itens; validade divergente adequada comparando meninos e meninas, validade concorrente significativa e validade de construto que confirmou dois componentes ('Sinta Preocupação' e 'Pense em Ajudar'). Da mesma forma, a Análise Fatorial Confirmatória rendeu valores aceitáveis em quase todos os seus indicadores de ajuste do modelo. Por fim, discutiu-se a relevância dos sistemas convencionais e a conveniência de inovar na mensuração da empatia infantil.
