20 years of psychology in private universities in Bolivia

Abstract

The literature on the development of psychology in Bolivia is limited and focuses mainly on the first psychology programs that existed in the 70s. Since its appearance 30 years ago, the Private University has received and graduated more than 30% of The university population of the country. This article presents the different types of universities that exist in Bolivia (Autonomous Public Universities, Special Regime Universities, Private Universities and Private Universities attached to the CEUB), the political context in which Private Universities are born and the offer of psychology careers that arises from them 20 years ago. To the extent that the availability of information allows it, it is about recovering the contributions of these careers and their protagonists. Finally, some information about the enrollment of students in the private system is presented.
