Abstract

In this case study, the different problems of a family, raised after the birth of a girl with Down syndrome, will be approached from the perspective of family therapy. Narrative therapy will be used as a meaningful tool to understand the way in which the family is related and organized around the disability. It is intended to delimit the problem and the set of dominant narratives, leading the conflict system to the mobilization of its own resources to establish new stories and ideas that will last longer than the old ones and that are directed towards a constructive coexistence in stories of evolution, strengthening and responsibility for the experience of having a girl with alternative abilities.
