Abstract

The study addresses a case of Child Depression in an eleven year old child. Unsatisfactory school performance is addressed by the school as Attention Deficit Disorder and suggests external psycho-pedagogical support. A comprehensive evaluation rules out organic problems and leads to rethinking the diagnosis from the systemic perspective of problem-centered and narrative therapies. It is established that the more the mother presses with the fulfillment of school tasks the child's performance is worse. The intervention in this subsystem, prescribing activities outside the duties, lowers the tension between them. Changes at the cognitive, emotional and behavioral level show the reversal of the disorder. Strategic therapy is highly effective.
